Answer the following questions regarding texts you have (probably) already read:

Animal Farm – choose A or B then complete C.

A. I have read Animal Farm

  1. Napoleon cleverly overcomes all his competition and arrives at the “top job”. What’s this all about?
  2. It’s conceivable that animals desire to rise up against their human oppressors. Explain.
  3. Orwell chose to write about animals as he understood his work would be taught in schools and thought animals would appeal to a younger audience. Explain.

B. I haven’t read Animal Farm. Take a synopsis from Mr. Tangey

  1. After reading the summary, does this story remind you an historical event? Explain.
C. Think of  time when you had to explain a difficult idea to someone. You probably started with a phrase along the lines of “It’s like when…”. What were you explaining? How did you make the idea simpler?
